Tea is originated in China. For thousands of years, Chinese people have all been loyal fans of tea.
What kind of tea qualifies as good tea? The tribute tea, rigorously selected by ancient Chinese royalty, must be considered among the best.
According to records, as early as the Zhou Dynasty, the "Qifo Tribute Tea" produced in Qingchuan, Guangyuan, was already presented as a tribute. By the Tang Dynasty, Empress Wu Zetian especially favored the "Qifo Tribute Tea" from her hometown, appointing tea officials and establishing a tribute tea garden in Qifo Township, Qingchuan County. Today, this tribute tea garden still has over 90 ancient tea trees, bearing witness to the glory of the "Qifo Tribute Tea" of that era.
The reason it could become a royal "rigorous selection" is due to Qingchuan's high mountains shrouded in mist, abundant rainfall, and fertile soil, making it extremely suitable for tea growth. The tea produced here has a fresh and brisk taste, leaving a lingering fragrance in the mouth.
The existence of over 13, 000 ancient tea trees in Qingchuan attest to the quality of Qingchuan tea and its long-standing tea culture. Experts estimate that among these ancient tea trees, the oldest one is over 1,500 years old. We can still feel the pivotal role of tea in the lives of the Qingchuan People today through the presence of these ancient tea bushes. The traditional tea-making technique of "Qifo Tribute Tea" has been passed down for 46 generations. Qingchuan people drink tea as a daily staple, make a living from tea and guard tea bushes.
